Below is a description of the positions available:

Principal: [Position Filled]

  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsible behavior.
  • Supervise in a fair and consistent manner effective discipline and attendance systems with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school.
  • Ensure a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students.
  • File all required reports regarding violence, vandalism, attendance and discipline matters.
  • Model at all times, appropriate Islamic behavior.
  • Overlook and manage the program budget.
  • Maintain appropriate communication and serve the role of liaison with The Awaited One Foundation.
  • Addresses staffing issues and concerns.
  • Enforce dress code and appearance policy so as to assure a school environment that is focused on group spiritual and academic achievement rather than on individuals.
  • Keep the staff informed and seek ideas for the improvement of the school.
  • Conduct meetings, as necessary, for the proper functioning of the school.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum coordinator in facilitating and improving the program.
  • Encourages the use of community resources, interprets the school program for the community, and maintains communication with community members.
  • Promotes the program.

Curriculum Coordinator: [Position Filled]

  • Provides staff leadership to ensure understanding of and promote the educational and religious objectives of AhlulBayt Academy, and plans and administers programs of professional development activities for instructional personnel.
  • Model at all times, appropriate Islamic behavior.
  • Observes teachers in their classrooms upon request of teachers or administrators and offers insights for the enhancement of the teaching-learning situation.
  • Addresses staffing issues and concerns.
  • Maintains a record of teacher check in and out times.
  • Organize and facilitate program-wide competitions and contests.
  • Organize, plan, and communicate/promote Academy Programs.
  • Arrange for substitute teachers in event a teacher will be absent.
  • Review and collect teacher lesson plans, grade books, and other documents.
  • Create teacher and staff handbook.
  • Maintain files and records for each staff member of the academy.
  • Recruit staff members.
  • Review and adjust curriculum.

Office Manager: [Position Filled]

  • Model at all times, appropriate Islamic behavior.
  • Assigns and regulates clerical and secretarial functions.
  • Assist curriculum coordinator and principal in program administration.
  • Adhere to program dress code.
  • Contact parents regarding absences and payments.
  • Maintain record of program tuition payments and provide parents with receipts for payments.
  • Maintain record of supplies and inventories and report weekly to curriculum coordinator.
  • Responsible for keeping the minutes of all meetings and the meetings of the executive board.
  • Assist in implementation of program activities and functions.

Teacher:

  • Model at all times, appropriate Islamic behavior.
  • Responsible at all times for the supervision of students during program hours.
  • Implement lessons in subject areas taught in program and assigning appropriate homework and classwork.
  • Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program.
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.
  • Maintains records of student attendance, exam and homework grades, and disruptive behavior.
  • Reports to curriculum coordinator any issues, conflicts, or concerns that are negatively impacting the learning process.
  • Adhere to the program dress code.
  • Participate in professional development activities held by curriculum coordinator.

Classroom Assistant:

  • Model at all times, appropriate Islamic behavior.
  • Assist classroom teachers in completing lessons and behavior management.
  • Assist in implementation of program activities and functions.
  • Assist curriculum coordinator and principal in order to achieve consistent function of program.
